If It's Not on the Calendar, Does it Even Exist?

On any given day for the average parent, there are drop-offs, pickups, classes, school events, recitals – you name it, the list goes on!

Unfortunately, if to-do lists, reminders, and calendar invites are not all coming together - schedule conflicts and miscommunication creep in, only adding to the pressure of keeping everyone (and everything) on track.

This is why there is so much excitement around the Amazon Echo Show 15 | Full HD 15.6" smart display with Alexa and Fire TV built-in (Amazon Canada /  Amazon US). A one-stop shop to keep it all in one place. This truly is the modern take on the good old kitchen fridge calendar. And it does so much more – a slideshow of your family pictures, the daily weather, it can play videos, link it to Alexa Home, the list is endless – it’s a great multifunctional item.

It’s also a great tool to help children learn time management skills (something many of us “grown-ups” have yet to master) by collaboratively and efficiently prioritizing activities, plans and even their goals.

From a planning perspective it’s fantastic and here’s why:

(1)   Syncs with your Google calendar to provide event details, locations, and times. Basically, everything you need to get you there (or get the kids and hubby there!)

(2)   You can set up alarms and reminders. Added bonus since you can do this directly from your phone – you don’t even need to be home to keep on top of everything!

(3)   List galore! Create grocery, to-dos, chores and so on, which will show up on your home screen. Pair it with an alarm/reminder for increased accountability.  Perhaps the best feature is it can all be done through oral dictation. Oh! And these lists can be found on the Alexa app of your phone. So no need to screenshot that grocery list when you find yourself on aisle 6 and can't remember what you need.

(4)   Contacts that can “drop in” – they can do so with a simple voice or video call directly to the tablet – no need for a landline or any phone really because it’s all there on the Amazon Echo Show. A great option if the kids are too young for cell phones, but you want them to be able to communicate with selected contacts – think grandma!

(5)   You can sync it to your Blink or Ring security systems from the dashboard.

This is a game-changer. The kids can engage with it and it can help avoid last-minute schedule conflicts – talk about getting everyone on the same page! This is a highly recommended product from our team.
